Google Search Console Now Tracks TikTok, Instagram, X, and YouTube Performance
According to PPC Land, Google's Search Console documentation changelog logged a new entry on July 29, 2026: a guide covering platform properties for TikTok, Instagram, X, and YouTube.

The guide arrived the same day the rollout completed — every account holder gained access by July 29. Platform properties launched July 7, 2026; the documentation simply catches up eight weeks later.
What the property boundary now covers
A platform property is a verified social or video account that functions as a Search Console entity without a website attached. Verification runs per account — four platforms means four separate verification flows per client if you run an agency. One shortcut is documented: accounts already covered by a claimed Google Search profile are added to Search Console as properties automatically, with no further action required.
Search profiles launched publicly on June 6, 2026, gated behind follower thresholds of 100,000 on YouTube, Instagram, or X, and 300,000 on TikTok. Creators above the threshold inherit Search Console properties without opting in. Below it, verification is manual.
For our purposes: the unit Google uses to scope indexing, queries, and clicks just expanded. What counts as a property on Google's index is no longer only a domain.
Where this intersects with domain portfolios
The operational question for domain investors is not whether to add a TikTok account to Search Console. It is whether creator accounts now compete with — or complement — domains on the same discovery surface.
The guide confirms data spans Google Search, Discover, and Google News. The Insights report breaks into four elements: a 28-day click trend, a top-performing content card identifying which individual posts or videos drive clicks, a queries card grouping search terms by theme, and a countries card locating the audience. The queries card runs the AI-powered grouping logic Google introduced October 27, 2025 for website properties — themes collapse misspellings, phrasings, and language variants into single rows.
Our read: the same query-clustering and traffic-trend machinery domain SEOs used to grade aged inventory now runs on social accounts. Discovery traffic — the signal most aged domains chase through Discover and News optimization — can now be attributed to a creator rather than to a domain.
A domain whose only SEO value was Discover-eligibility for short-form content now faces a competitor class: a verified creator profile absorbing the same clicks without owning a domain at all.
What to watch
Three signals worth pulling into your monitoring stack:
- Indexation behavior for creator profiles versus domain properties in the same niche.
- Discover visibility shifts for domains in verticals with active creators — sports, entertainment, lifestyle — since the July 7 launch.
- Anchor and link-velocity patterns for domains whose value depended on traffic that may now route to platform properties.
The same granular per-event tracking logic that powers a resource like the Packers fantasy football tracker: Every training camp and preseason update now governs whether your domains still capture the discovery clicks they did in June.
Verdict
Pure domain investors without creator-side holdings: pass on operational urgency, monitor the data. Investors holding domains in creator-heavy verticals alongside a creator presence: verify now — Yahoo Tech documented a 48-hour pull window, short enough that you lose nothing by adding a property today.
The property boundary moved. Your SEO metrics just acquired a new competitor class.
